Aims to improve the travel experience for children and their families 100 children with disabilities benefit from the services of the "Sensory Room" at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh

King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh has welcomed more than 100 children with disabilities inside the recently opened sensory room, helping to prepare them psychologically before traveling, where the room includes a safe environment equipped with advanced tools and devices to stimulate the different senses of children with disabilities, such as vision, hearing, touching, tasting and smelling, in order to help them relax and not be stressed from boarding. The travel trip is a pleasant experience.

Families of children with disabilities praised the initiative of the King Salman Disability Research Center to inaugurate the “Sensory Room” at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh in collaboration with its partners Riyadh Airports, to improve the travel experience of children with disabilities and their families. HRH Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Center's Board of Trustees, sponsored this innovative initiative in order to enhance opportunities for empowering and integrating individuals with disabilities into society.

Kholoud Ebrahim AlShaya, Director of the “Sensory Rooms” Project at the KSCDR, said the initiative's plan ensures the implementation of a number of sensory rooms in other facilities, following the success of the experience of establishing two rooms at King Khalid International Airport and King Fahd Medical City.
