The Supreme Supervisory Committee of the Seventh International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation held its first meeting under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Salman Center for Disability Research, with the participation of Their Excellencies and Distinguished Members of the Committee. The meeting aimed to review the latest developments in preparations for this international scientific event and to discuss its main themes.
The Supreme Supervisory Committee includes in its membership His Excellency Dr. Majid bin Ibrahim Alfayyadh, Chief Executive Officer of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre and Secretary General of the Conference; His Excellency Dr. Bandar bin Abdulmohsen Al-Qanawi, President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences; His Excellency Dr. Muneer bin Mahmoud Al-Desouqi, President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology; in addition to Mr. Nader bin Sami Al-Kuraie, Chief Executive Officer of Riyad Bank; Dr. Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Haidari, Chief Executive Officer of the Authority for the Care of Persons with Disabilities; Eng. Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al-Kanhal, Chief Executive Officer for Strategic Affairs at stc Group; Mr. Sulaiman bin Saleh Al-Dakheel, Director General of the Gulf Health Council; and Dr. Badr bin Saad Al-Hajhouj, Executive Director of the King Salman Center for Disability Research, Rapporteur of the Supreme Supervisory Committee, and Chairman of the Preparatory Committee. The meeting was also attended by a number of officials and guests concerned with the conference’s activities, who will collaborate with the Center in organizing the event.
During the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Majid bin Ibrahim Alfayyadh reviewed the general framework of the conference. The committee also discussed and approved the scientific and media frameworks, endorsed the overall framework for the Disability Hackathon, and addressed emerging matters related to the preparation and organization track, with the aim of enhancing the quality of outputs and achieving the conference’s scientific objectives.
His Royal Highness, the Conference Chairman, emphasized that the conference will—God willing—be an exceptional event that reflects the progress witnessed by the Kingdom across various sectors. He expressed his appreciation to the organizing partners and members of the Supreme Supervisory Committee for their efforts in preparing for this international scientific event.
The Seventh International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation comes as a continuation of a pioneering scientific journey that contributes to supporting research and innovation and strengthening integration among scientific and knowledge-based efforts in the field of disability, reflecting the Kingdom’s standing and its role in advancing initiatives with meaningful impact.
