King Salman Center for Disability Research and the Ministry of Education conclude the skills-development program for professionals working with persons with disabilities

The King Salman Center for Disability Research, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Association for Children with Disabilities, concluded their specialized training program titled “Developing the Skills of Professionals Working with Persons with Disabilities.” The program was held in conjunction with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025 and witnessed wide participation from educational and rehabilitation professionals.

The program comes as part of national efforts to enhance the competencies of those working in the disability field and to enable them to provide high-quality educational and rehabilitation services. It aims to contribute to achieving inclusive and sustainable educational outcomes and aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives to build an inclusive society that offers all its members opportunities for learning and active participation in national development.

Over the course of five days, the program featured a series of scientific and practical courses and lectures focused on developing the participants’ professional skills and improving their competencies in assessment and diagnosis, the use of modern educational and technological tools, and the development of individualized educational plans according to each learner’s needs. It also emphasized strengthening effective partnerships with families.

The King Salman Center for Disability Research affirmed that the program is an extension of the Center’s and the Ministry of Education’s initiatives aimed at empowering educational and rehabilitation professionals and equipping them with the latest knowledge and skills that keep pace with modern advancements in the field of disability, while enhancing the quality of services provided to persons with disabilities.

The program concluded with participants praising the scientific level and practical content of the courses, affirming that the skills and knowledge they gained will directly contribute to enhancing their professional performance and improving the quality of educational and rehabilitation services provided to persons with disabilities, in line with a clear vision of building an inclusive and sustainable society.
